Yesterday,
anti_girl,
queen_est and I climbed up a very steep hill in order to watch
lee_chaos and
danbastardly fling themselves down it after some cheese. The crazy fools! We perched on tiny clumps of grass along the sides of an incredibly muddy hillside and had a brilliant (if precarious) view of the action. One piece of cheese knocked a cameraman off his feet and smashed his camera into two pieces, one girl seemed to roll most of the way down the hill completely unconcious and one bloke probably won't be having children for a VERY long time. A man who had climbed up a tree for a better view had a rather spectacular fall and the boys both managed to fling themselves down the hill without serious injury, allbeit long after all the cheese had gone.
The weather was freezing and I was barely able to operate my phone but aside from that and some rather over-enthusiastic chav blokes who stormed the fencing at the top of the hill, sent a security guard slipping down (and then waited patiently for the Cheesemaster to start a race for them), it was a top day out.
Favourite people of the day were the guy in the green top who had flung himself down the hill 4 times on Sunday as a practice run (and won his race), the crazy shouting man from Japanese TV (who was pipped at the post and came second in his) and the rugby team stationed at the bottom of the hill who brought people to a halt by jumping on them (rather enthusiastally if they had been behaving badly)!
