I got this through the e-mail and decided I'd like to try it on you lot, just so I know who I shouldn't be alone with on a dark night...

This is not a trick question! It was designed by a famous American Psychologist to find out if one has the same mentality as a killer. Many arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the question correctly.

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a man whom she did not know. She thought the man was amazing, so much her dream guy she believed him to be, that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number and could not find him.

A few days later she killed her sister.

Question: What is her motive for killing her sister? [Give this some thought before you answer]

I'm going to screen all replies to this today (just to stop anyone giving the answer away) but I'll keep a running tally here so you will all know how well you've done:

There'd be another funeral and he'd get to meet the woman again.

Think of me not as a psycho, more as one who has heard one too many faux-psychological tests.

I've got two?

Serious answer: she found out the man was her sister's boyfriend?

Silly answer: her sister used her rubber ducky as a sex tool! ;op

It was her sisters husband, after all people at a funeral are related through some connection

1. he was her estranged sisters new husband.
2. he was the gravedigger, and this was just a handy way of keeping him employed so that he could afford to take her out for a meal.

Her motive for killing her sister was to see blokey again, so he must have been coroner or funeral director or grave digger or something. Which shows a distinct lack of imagination - a good bit of stalking would have been so much easier.

But I may have got this completely wrong. (What's that you say lassie?)

Strangly enough this is a trick question. As it's written it is loaded to get you to give the answer that suggests that you are a serial killer. There is only one possible motive given in the whole story. Therefore most people will pick that.

Actually it's night on impossible to define a motive - even at criminal trial. Who can truely say what goes on in a person's mind. What little triggers give large results.

Why did someone chose to have more than one drink last night. Why did Fred and Rosemary bury people in their garden. Why do you go to Infest. There's no simple answer to any question.

OK so I'm waffling!

Why did someone chose to have more than one drink last night.

Because they fancied getting wasted?

Why did Fred and Rosemary bury people in their garden.

Because it was a convenient location and the cellar was full?

Why do you go to Infest.

To punish yourself for being a bad, bad person?

*heh heh heh* ;)

Supposedly a large majority of serial killers have very direct logical thinking minds. 'Normal' people would be rather shocked at the story of the funeral & their minds would wonder off-the-subject path. Whereas death & killing bears no importance to serial killers so they just cooly say the answer immediately

Almost gave the answer to the question, but then remembered not too. & most people have heard the question before anyway ;)

If he came to the mothers, maybe he'd come to the sisters, and then she could see him again. Or maybe she was blonde, thats also a good reason for murder. If i'm right by the way, i thought of that instantly, does that make me a bad man?

The obvious one to me is to say that she finds out her sister did in fact ask for the guys number so she kills her sister in a fit of rage and to get his number.
But im going for she later finds out that her sister killed her mother so she kills her sister in a fit of rage.
Or she killed her mother and then a few days later goes on to kill her sister.
Or shes finds out the guy killed her mother and is dating her sister, she tries to kill him but misses accidentaly killing her sister.

(maybe i thought about this one too much)

ok I see a number of possible reasons
1) sister finds out you admit to love at first sight, she laughs, you kill her (bitch/slag whore that she is)
2) she finds out you killed your own mother, you kill her (you must free your soul to see true beauty, let me help you)
3) the guy is her bloke, you kill her (slag bitch demon whore, he is mine)
4) you find out that the man is actually your sister in drag - you are so confused/disgusted with yourself, you kill her (I hate you, but i love you, so i must kill you)
5) you sister is terminally ill, so you help her end her own life (er..)
6) you kill your sister by accient (she came out of no where, honest officer)
7) and probally the most likely and probally the right one:
since the man was at my mother's funeral, it stands to reason that he knows [my] family, therefore, if i were to meet him again, it would be at a family function, but having never seen him before, it is unlikely he is going to turn up to auntie June's birthday next month, but wait, he was at my mother's funeral, so....so if there was another funeral, then he will be there again, and this time I can get his number! but no one is dead right now, and auntie june may be 137 years old, but she is like, immortal...hang on..sister, you know how you said you would do anything for me, well now I want you do something for me, come here, i would like you to DIE!!!!!! *hack* *slash* *rip* *tear* etc etc.....bring on the funeral, [I] can meet the man of [my]dreams once more!

sick eh?

I think the woman could of killed her sister because she was just unstable at the time, if her mother had just died and she was emotionally vunerable then she meets this guy and falls for him, she thinks shes lost him and her mother all at the same time, she wigs out. What if say the will had left all the money to her sister as well, another loss which would flip her over the edge. This however does not make her a serial killer, just a mental health case, she would of been aqquited for on pyschological grounds.
