I got this through the e-mail and decided I'd like to try it on you lot, just so I know who I shouldn't be alone with on a dark night...

This is not a trick question! It was designed by a famous American Psychologist to find out if one has the same mentality as a killer. Many arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the question correctly.

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a man whom she did not know. She thought the man was amazing, so much her dream guy she believed him to be, that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number and could not find him.

A few days later she killed her sister.

Question: What is her motive for killing her sister? [Give this some thought before you answer]

I'm going to screen all replies to this today (just to stop anyone giving the answer away) but I'll keep a running tally here so you will all know how well you've done:

She wanted to meet the man again.

But I'm not really crazy, I've just seen that before...
probably

I've seen this before, but I figured it out then as well - she killed her sister to see if the man would turn up at the funeral.

So they could have another funeral so she could meet the man again.

I am not a serial killer, I've just heard it before :*)

She killed her sister so that the man would come to her sister's funeral and she could see him again.

DISCLAIMER: No I'm not a psychopath, I've just seen this quiz before and know the answer.

Scarily enough though, at the last place I worked a girl who hadn't seen the question before gave exactly that answer... From that moment on, I never said "no" when she said it was my turn to make the tea!

I'd like to stress that i don't think i'd go to this extreme (i've never met anyone THAT amazing!) but if we go along the lines that this lady is obsessive (me..nah!)...
if she killed her sister its possible that the guy would appear at the funeral again...if he's connected to the family then its quite possible that he would, its probably the best hope that shes got...

that or she could describe him to the police when they turned up and then they'd track him down...but i like my first answer bestest :>

The kind of obvious fiction answer I'd say is that her sister has met said man and he's now in love with her.

Another thought is that she was at her mothers funeral, maybe her sister had killed her mother. But thats probably thinking about it too much.

She wanted to see the man again and expected him to show up at her sister's funeral.

I answered this question correctly the first time I saw it as I though it was a perfectly logical explanation. Yes, I am a psychopath. ;)

She's hoping he shows up at the funeral again, given that he already attended one family members?

The guy is obviously a family friend so he'll turn up at the next funeral. The first time i was asked this i got it in about a minute on the second guess, i asked my 8 year old cousin this last year and he got it in about 10 seconds but then i always knew to stay away from him.

Have seen this before, so that's cheating. The only thing she knows about the guy is that he's close enough to the family to turn up at a family funeral. So she kills a family member in the hope he turns up.

I should point out that I worked it out first time I saw it, largely because it's a problem with small number of variables - everything you are told must be relevant. And frankly, you are told she's a loon, so you throw normal human behaviour out the window when trying to work out what's going on

Dammit, I saw this one years ago.

I thought the sister she killed was her unborn child...

Either:

He was married to her sister and she hadn't known?

or

In case he knew her sister too and she might see him again at her funeral?
