According to this test, I probably have autism or something. I scored 36. Fear my spock-like logic!

I need to test this test now. Tell me your score. It will either decide that we're all a bit wrong-headed or show that it's just me and I'll have to go away and write lists and arrange things neatly.

Edit: Oooh yeah... Tell me what your job/degree/whatever is so we can compare what the test says about you being systematic (working in engineering or science - high scores) or empathizing (working with people (or on Star Trek) - low scores) with what you actually chose to do...

I got 17

I got 4. Least autistic person ever!

Which is reasonable, as I have been tested for aspergers and came up strongly negative. It turns out that in fact I have quite strong OCD and some other related (largely beneficial) neurological disorders, which looked like they could have been autism related, which is why I got tested.

To answer the edit, I am a professional gamer. I write computer games for a living, I have a degree in AI/neuroscience, I am studying for a second degree in philosophy, I really enjoy programming and AI and logic and gaming. I also study Game Theory (a branch of mathematics).

Can't think why they though I might be autistic. Wierdos.

28 for me, although I wasn't thinking too hard on my answers (and I know a bunch of them are superficially contradictory). Reference info: Uni. Admin/Amateur Academic/Philosophy/Sociology/Mild Geekish Tendencies. Note of trivia: Simon Baron-Cohen is the cousin of Sacha Baron-Cohen, aka Ali G.

My degree is English Lit and I work as a sales assistant. It's important to empathise with the customers need to buy coffee....

26, but I found it to be a frustrating test (as these sorts of forced opinion tests often are).

I am an IT Manager, I do all branches of IT stuff, but I'm particularly good at business and data analysis, database design and logical contruction of systems.

I failed my degree (1 yr Mech Eng, then 1 yr Electrical Eng) because I was too lazy to go to lectures. I nearly failed my A-Levels as I was too lazy to work for them. I did reasonably well in my GCSE's (considering I did little or no work and revision) as while I was very lazy, I have enough inate talent with logical, mathematical and scientific things that I could wing it. It was years of winging it which set me up to fail at A-Level and University.

My best subjects were things like Applied Mathematics (force diagrams and motion), the similar things in Physics, Engineering, electronics, computer programming, that sort of thing.

I was appalling at languages, and was very frustated by them. I have a very good command of English, but with no structure, so my spelling and grammar are terrible. I think my frustration at languages was due to being very good at expressing myself in English, so I hated not being able to express myself properly in French.

15. Surprising, given my obsessive-compulsiveness and certain other problems.

[identity profile] teadaemon.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 12:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I got 32 and I'm a computer sysadmin with a strong liking for UNIX and similar complicated things (though actually once you learn all the details it becomes really simple and obvious).

Doh! Also, I'm a polymath, with interests in astronomy, astrophysics, quantum mechanics, electrical engineering, but actually academically I went through art college and got a degree in English and I is of course a musician!

So I reckon I am pretty much normally abnormal.

[identity profile] gommog.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
18, decidedly average as per usual with all these types of things.

[identity profile] cyberpunkgrrl.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
37...
which isn't surprising as I'm dyspraxic :)

And I'm a University student studing a business degree in Music and Media Management, though I'm much prefer my social science classes atm!

30 - though I can be a bit schitzo; sometimes I can see strong autistic traits, sometimes I don't.

Is that good? Bad? Indifferent?

Do I really care?

Did I just do this test to avoid trying to figure out how to setup php and mySQL on a computer to build a phpNuke website?

I scored 18. What does this mean? I'm guessing not much, other than my mediocre, half arsed, and somewhat layed back attitude generally dictates.

I want to be special too dammit!

Lowish compared to what i was expecting; as i'm dyspraxic and have been tested for autism. My degrees english literature and i think i scored quite low cos of the imaginative things; i have a very overactive imagination!

I scored 11. I'm a nurse as you know doing a law degree.

I got 9 so not very autistic. Seeing as I work in the exciting world of car insurance I should be prety good at dealing with people.

Oh yeah, my degree was in Journalism so obviously I'm using that well at the moment. :)

[identity profile] ishkhara.livejournal.com 2005-04-13 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
My score was 13.

(Oops, I nearly typed 143 there! *lol*)
