This is probably going to turn into one of those randomly-gibbering-meandering-away-from-the-point-no-real-structure type posts, so apologies in advance...

Well lookee here Zeke! Seems we downloaded ourselves a highly addictive Eddie Izzard screensaver!!! (Covered in bees!)

And, stolen from [livejournal.com profile] sorcha for the sole benifit of [livejournal.com profile] sartori666 and [livejournal.com profile] vixenxxx, here's 'Desk Duck!'

Has anyone else noticed how all the warning signs for roadworks on the motorway all read '800 yards', no matter how far away the roadworks actually are? On sunday, we passed the '800 yards' sign THREE TIMES for the same set of roadworks. What's up with that?

So on friday, Gen and I had plans to cram into a hot and sweaty room and wave our arms round like in 'Human Traffic.' And as we were going to the club featured in 'Human Traffic,' that seemed about right. But as the £14 entrance fee seemed *wrong* so we went to barfly to see an almost-goth band called 'Psychid' instead, and then bounced round Reflex (the 80s bar) until it closed and we were thrown out. (Sooo much fun that I'll be going back again this thursday...)

Saturday was a busy one too... Went to Shell-bun's birthday party and spent the whole night nattering to Owen about his new salon. Caught a lift into town with some random boy-racer type who was there with his new flash motor to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] xxxrated, [livejournal.com profile] toxicpixie and [livejournal.com profile] kamalaya amongst others and headed down to local goth night 'Inquisition.' As usual, it resembled a bad techno night, was filled with muppets with glowsticks and only worth staying in for Monkey's decent half hour trad set. (Just as an indication of how truly bad this night actually is, the DJ (who can't mix) is named 'Jon the Goth'... And you wonder why I spend so much time away?)

Sunday more than made up for the poo that is Inquisition as [livejournal.com profile] xxxrated, Rowanne and I traded places with the toxic one and headed on up to Dudley JBs for Funeral Nation. The Beautiful Deadly Children played a highly entertaining set for us and then we bounced around to proper old industrial courtesy of DJ Trilobyte, who is now on my list of nice favourite DJs who play proper music, although points were lost for the weird 'every third track should be Trent Reznor or Rammstein' thing he had going on...

Oh yeah - and has anyone else seen that advert for 'Crusha' milkshake mix with the kittens from rathergood.com? No? It's on their website. It's a bit surreal at 3 a.m...

And, finally, from the BBC website:
"For the fourth year, BBC Radio Wales stages a free festival of music in Cardiff Bay. This year's line-up includes Blazin' Squad, D-Side, and the Fast Food Rockers plus an exclusive set from Marc Almond to end the evening.

So if anyone would like to come and see Marc Almond for free on the 27th, give me a shout. I'll be going. If you want to see the Fast Food Rockers, give me a shout. We'll take guns.
