So, mere hours after I finish telling ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
flywingedmonkey how much I hate my car, it tries to kill me again. This time the throttle cable snapped at junction 32, leaving me stranded in the middle of three lanes of traffic. A white van man and a motorcyclist almost expired pushing the car to the side of the road (how I chortled when I realised I could have driven it there on the clutch myself) and the RAC appeared 45 minutes later, just before I caught hypothermia. (Always keep a coat in your car, kids!)
Earlier dodgy repairs meant that what ought to have been a quick fix is now a garage job and I had to get my car towed to Wild West Garages Inc, where instead of machining out the pin and replacing it, they're probably going to try and charge me to replace the entire throttle box. There are two things to be thankful for:
1. Because I had things and stuff™ to do after work, there wasn't much traffic when I got stranded and the roads were relatively quiet, making it far less scary to be sitting at a dead stop in the middle of everything.
2. I have the day off work and got to have a lie in. Woo hoo.
xxxrated and phiil: This may effect our weekend plans as I could be carless until Monday. I shall call you both to make new plans as soon as I know what's going on.
