Japanorama was good tonight, wasn't it?

It was all about bad girls and included a look at yamanba (a.k.a. sea hags), who are a cross between cybergoths and Pamela Anderson. Scary. Apparently, this is the extreme version of a beach babe look - dark tanned skin, blue eyes, MASSES of make up and, for some reason, not washing.

Essex has nothing on Tokyo.

What a bizarre subculture... the ganguro look is ok, if a bit odd, but the yamanba makes me go 'urk'.

I know! At first I thought they just looked cybery but when they got up to the camera and I saw the make-up, it made tham all look really old.

And a bit golliwog-ish too, which is not a good look.
