you do have to select the "invite my friends" option, then give it your hotmail/googlemail/etc username and password, then confirm that you want it to fuck off and spam all your friends.
it's unfortunate for the chappy concerned that he didn't understand how it worked, but it's not actually automatic.
Oh god, you haven't had a spam email off em have you? I never received any from my friends on there, so kind of assumed they didn't do that any more. Deathboy's comment is reassuring though.
