[livejournal.com profile] lucien_dark is a brave brave man, for on Thursday he took on my home cooking and won. We had lahmacun. I was mighty impressed with myself for actually having all the ingredients already - fear my culinary powers!

Now sometimes I do actually do work and on Friday I sacrificed a pub crawl to stay in and read up on strategic marketing for non-profit organisations. (Or I would have done, had I not passed out at 11:30 thanks to staying up late on thursday drinking far too much wine and watching skipping DVDs about evil mutated cockroaches which crawl under your skin.)

Made up for it on Saturday though, by getting some research done at the Taliesin Egypt Centre at Swansea University, which is an AMAZING place... (Grimpeeps: you really need to visit it!)

On Saturday night, I had been planning to pop into the 147 and wish Vee a Happy Birthday, though things did not quite go according to plan as Andy B and I ended up in a spooky timewarp down the Vaults with Eyebrows Paul, Liz and Joo. (For those of you who are interested, EPB and Liz have moved back into town and have a fab flat just opposite the Gatekeeper and EPB is working as... wait for it... A BUILDER!!! Joo has lost 3 stone and is looking more fabulous than ever - I have her e-mail address if anyone would like to get in touch...)

Anyway, after consuming much pintage, we all staggered happily to Dibby's place to wish him a happy birthday - and being in the house of instant lethargy, failed to move again for quite some time.

Which is why I found myself transporting a sick and miserable hungover Andy B and a sleepy [livejournal.com profile] lucien_dark to Derby on Sunday morning for Carnival of Souls. Andy B crawled round the club for a few hours before going back to the car to die, [livejournal.com profile] lucien_dark bought the *best* coat ever, was tall at people (but rubbish at music), Skeletal Family are a brilliant brilliant band and it was nice to see [livejournal.com profile] strangerover - but where were the rest of you? After a bit of a BADventure*, when we almost discovered how far my car can go when the fuel gauge reads empty (and it's a really long way too - about 50 miles!), we got home at 2:30, which is why I've had Monday morning off for sleeping. *yay!*
