Hum. I have a problem with booze. It's not that I drink too much of it and I'm not an addict or anything, it's just that when I drink, I wake up with gaps in my memory which always just so happen to co-incide with key points in the evening. Last time it happened, I can remember someone asking me a very important question, but can I remember what my reply was? No. One day I'll discover that I once had a Las Vegas wedding or something.

It happened again on Saturday. Expecting high bar prices at the Engine Rooms, we downed a few pints each at the Ernest Willows before heading over to the Bay. In retrospect, alternating between Carling and Wild Turkey wasn't such a hot plan, but I was having fun being the resident freak show (wearing foam and rexlace extensions and a big blue furry coat - which isn't exactly de riguer in townie-type Wetherspoons - kind of makes you stick out a bit).

Anyway, I know I had a wicked time at 'Bogiez: The Return' ([livejournal.com profile] xxxrated has already written a fair bit about that here)... Sort of caught up with loads of people I haven't seen for ages (Frank, Ian & Annie, Tim & Liza), managed to say less than a few words to most people I knew, drank more drinks and did a really rubbish job of being the conscience of [livejournal.com profile] dead_end_doll. For some reason, I decided it would be a good idea to leave at 12.30 and caught a taxi home with Dunk and some people we met outside the chip shop. We went back to Dunk's place, where I fell over and squished a loaf of bread (which got stuck in the toaster when we tried to toast it).

So on Sunday I failed to do anything at all productive and discovered that I am once again covered in bruises of mysterious origins, which I am blaming on a revenge attack by some Bread of Doom. Kicked in the shins by some sliced white. Oh, the pain...

I'm thinking that I should probably stop drinking quite so much when I go out and I'm sure there are quite a few people (particularly those of the male variety) who would agree. Or perhaps I'll just start wearing really spiky collars again.

Hmmm. Sounds familiar.

Alcohol - check.
Loss of memory - check.
Making an arse of myself - check.
Drunken ramblings - check.
Vegas wedding - check.

;)

No problem

Gaps in your memory are fine (and probably best) when completely hammered. To compensate for all the stupid stuff you do invent yourself an alter ego and blame any misadventures on them. If you can't remember it it didn't happen.

Most of my friends are convinced I have an evil twin for exactly this reason...lol.

Entertaining, if it weren't for people like us there would be no one to laugh at when going out. Again if you don't remember it it didn't happen.

I can still walk and talk, my heads a bit messy but nothing that means i could take the day off and not feel guilty. I don't really believe in sick days anymore, i've seen enough day time TV.

i only hit my head, it's not like there's anything important in there and i think all a doctor is going to do is tell me to take aspirin. I'll have a few Guinness tonight to build my strength up ;D

yeah we are the staple of goth entertainment
to be honest i like a good laugh and don't
mind if its me thats the source of the joviality
i find it helps people feel more comftable
around you if you can laugh at yourself and
have a joke at your own expense :)

i feel for you babe, had similar experience this weekend at butlins (says it all really) - 11pm to 3am sat night is entirely missing from my mind. unfortunately photographic evidence indicates that, far from passing out on the table (as i had hoped) i was a very busy girl indeed in the all-singing, all-dancing, shite-talking sense. am pretty sure i said many indiscreet things to many people. oops.
let's do it all again tonight, anyway... ;-P
