Oh, ick!

I find myself horribly disappointed today by these photos of the new Acropolis Museum. I can see what they were trying to do with the outside, but the inside is just horrible - those columns completely go against all the basic aesthetic rules of Classical architecture (and the shiny flooring is just vile). Ick ick ick. Way to make your museum look like a train station.

*Feels less inclined to let them have the Parthenon Marbles back again*

Eurgh, yeah. What's with the concrete dominoes on the wall? More prison/car park to me. Do like the head staring winsomely out of the window though... that's got to have been tongue in cheek.
